The Golden Storefront Award Is a Year Old

Press Release from Residents for a More Beautiful Port Washington

THE GOLDEN STOREFRONT AWARD

Residents for a More Beautiful Port Washington and the Greater Port Washington Business Improvement District would like to congratulate again the first thirteen recipients of the Golden Storefront Award for excellence in storefront beautification. The Golden Storefront Award started in October of 2009 and is voted on by Port residents and given monthly to a local storefront that has demonstrated a continuing commitment to beautifying our community.

Residents and the BID hope that other local businesses will use these merchants as a model for outstanding maintenance and congratulates them for a job well done. Mindy Germain, Executive Director of RFMBPW, says "We hope that these merchants will keep up the excellent work, and that the bestowal of this award will encourage residents to patronize these stores and for other businesses to strive for the same level of commitment." Roy Smitheimer, Executive Director of the BID added "The Golden Storefront Award was established to thank and congratulate local business owners for providing a place that the Port Washington community wants to shop and or dine. The more stores that we have participate in the program, the more our local residents will want to "Try Port 1st".

Now, it is up to you. The Golden Storefront Award is given monthly. We encourage all Port citizens to vote for a business that they believe exemplifies these values at http://www.pwresidents.org/ or send an e-mail to info@pwresidents.org. Your vote must be in by October 31st to be counted for the November selection.

This award is sponsored by Residents for a More Beautiful Port Washington and the Greater Port Washington Business Improvement District.
